It's that time of year again
I have been knitting on everything but what I should be working on. Which is one of the million (okay only 3) baby blankets I have to do.
The Toucha Me Blanket is sitting in the basket un-touched again.
Okay, it's not that I don't want to, nor is it that I am being lazy, I just wound up with a case of Crafty ADD and got
There is a belly dance benefit coming up and well.. things were needed for auction.. So I obliged. I have 1 dozen mozuni belts, all hand braided and wrapped. At least a dozen more falls. Which seem to be the current rage among Urban Tribal Belly Dancers.
On the good side, I have used 90% of my stash to date, and the other 10% or so is going to be the second baby blanket.
Unless I go nuts and start making tassels.
Hat Day was just plain awesome. It was much fun for all involved.
Thanksgiving was an equal blast. We were with family + the brand new baby (who's blue yarn is in my stash waiting for me to finish his brothers Big Boy blanket).
I love the smell of new babies, that scent somewhere between a bath, powder, spit up and nasty diaper. You know that sweet smell that just makes every woman's(and a few men's) hearts melt.
Brody danced with me in the kitchen, and sang in my ear while I nuzzled his wee neck. Oh yes, he is already a heartthrob.
I am happy to report that he was born very healthy and huge according to H's cousin.
I am even happier to report that his big sister is thriving and is walking, starting to talk, and making up for lost time in leaps and bounds.
Riley, came into this world without all of her heart, but enough spirit to make it through her surgeries and to come toddling into a room chattering away with only ice cold fingers and toes to let you know anything was wrong.
Only one new one this year, and then the family is going to take a slow down for a while.
From then on, it has been an absolute whirlwind of happenings. Christmas parties, dance rehearsals, and just life in general.. It seems honestly that the last 6 months have just blazed by.
There is a Fourth baby blanket, in the plans.. there is only one problem... I am really stuck... I can't just make it pink.. No.. It has to be Pink with Purple and Blue Trucks on it.. And I can't just make blue, without it having some big flowers and bobbles to play with and pick at. Basically, this means that I have to continue to watch with careful eye the mother to be. (wonder who that is?)(Knows damn well she's reading this too)
My gut instinct says to make it every every color of yarn that I can find with Dumptrucks filled with flowers, and well... You get the picture. Hopefully, she will give off enough clues for me to decide.
So, as you can see.. My life is a windfall of happenings, with me taking a pleasant seat on the sidelines, watching, but still participating.
9 More days before I can put up the christmas tree
11 more days before I can honestly consider shopping.
18 days before I pull my hair out making sure I have everything
and
20 days before I am done.
