Homesick for Hockeytown!

(WARNING: No knitting content whatsoever)

Okay, I grew up in Michigan. The suburbs of Detroit to be more specific.
Which means I have come to learn one thing about living on the West Coast.
I can't get East Coast or Canadian Hockey!

Which means that I am stuck with teams like the Sharks, the Kings, and the Mighty Freaking Disney Ducks!
Now, before I upset my west coast hockey fans that probably don't bother with my little corner of the internet.
I know that you have worked long and hard to get the Greatest Game on Earth west of the Rocky Mountains. (when I figure out what happened in Colorado, I'll let you know).
But, they aren't the Original Six. They most certainly are not the Detroit Red Wings. So to me it's more like watching Glamour on Ice.
There is minimal contact, very few glass rattling hits, and no Blood on the Ice.

What's worse. Is I don't even get Hockey Night in Canada. Why? Because for whatever stupid reason. Cable TV doesn't get CBC. Which means, that come Saturday night during Hockey season I am stuck watching reruns of Law and Order, just to see Ice T, deck someone.

Sure, I could spend 200 dollars to get the cable package for hockey season pass. But there is one flaw. The games are on at 4:30 in the afternoon. I'm still at work, for at least 45 minutes of the game. So what's the point? When I would have to spend another 200 after that just to get the flippin playoffs, that once again, start while I am at my office.. Pointless. I tell ya.. just plain pointless.

All in all I won't complain when the only game I get to see is the Sharks and the BlueJackets. Even though I am completely bummed out that I can't see the 'Wings, and the Kings play in LA. Because the game is blacked out here in Northern California.

I guess I really can't complain since the 04-05 season was locked out due to the negotiations for Salary Caps, to try and put the teams on some sort of level ice.

Sorry, west coast teams, but you aren't going to be able to convert me to your hockey. Not when I grew up in Hockeytown.
But I will admit to taking you over no hockey at all.
